After months of preparation and with the precious and joyful help of my editorial assistant Maëlle, I am very happy to present to you a series of portraits that are close to my heart.
How do you find the right shoe for you when you want to be accompanied?
This is the question I wanted to answer by launching this initiative. A non-exhaustive list, a “non-directory”. Rather, pearls presented as I see them, where we tried to describe their jobs and their missions.
When people come to me and say “this is happening in my life, I need help but… what?”, whether it is related to their professional life or their personal life, I find it difficult to talk to them. orient towards “a discipline”. Because the reality on the ground is that despite standards (or attempts at standards) guides have their own personal approaches. Also I find it easier to recommend a person than to recommend a discipline.
I wanted to say “Here, look at all the support that can exist, all the diversity, the richness. So, I am sure that you will find your happiness, that you will find the help you need to move forward, whatever your context.”
It is also a message of hope, an outstretched hand to demonstrate that if there is a problem, discomfort, or just the desire to evolve or progress, there is the right person to help you see things more clearly. If you want to, of course.
Coaches, psychologists, therapists, guides: I have chosen not to compartmentalize and, on the contrary, seek out a range of talents and skills. For the moment, there are only women in these portraits. It wasn't a deliberate choice, it came naturally. This could change! To date, 10 portraits are planned for publication, for your enjoyment I hope.
Behind the scenes of these portraits
During these interviews, the question of the circumstances and origin of this project was often asked to me! Quite simply, it started from Maëlle. She sent me a spontaneous application to do an internship with me. winning strategy since I wasn't looking for anyone at all, and I still said yes. I asked myself “what could she do that would be interesting that I would find interesting too?” And I thought that one of my strengths was my network, and that it would necessarily be interesting for her to be in contact with all these professionals. And of course I thought that what would interest her would interest the people who read me here too.
When you work in a “well-being profession” or support, you yourself are often fond of personal development. This is my case and making these portraits with Maëlle also allowed me to satisfy my own curiosity, to discover with pleasure other ways of doing things, other fields, other expertise. And I also wanted to show how tolerance, openness and solidarity have their place there. I found a quote to express my thoughts on the subject.
